Aloha Doc Tim, and Doc Brison,

First of all, Doc Brison - congrats on an Academic Background that must leave a whole wall in your house covered with various degrees, accolades, and Honors! Way to go! Wow. It took me three years just to get my GPA to the left of the decimal. You are an example of grit. Just plain old hard determined work, combined with smarts. Congrats.

Doc Tim and Doc Brison, it is so serendipitous that this podcast came up today. Because just yesterday I was asked by some folks to do a bit of research on GENX (an emergent Pollutant used in making Teflon) that has been found in our water down here. It turns out that the Company responsible for putting the chemical in the water; has no responsibility to stop dumping it into the river. Why?
Because as Doc Brison pointed out, there is no Science - yet. The EPA has no number to enforce, and the chemical has only been determined to be an emergent risk. So the Public is outraged, the Company has no legal compulsion to "do the right thing", and Local Government can only ask the Company to provide information - but can't legislate anything, because there are no solid numbers.
So when I talk back to my friends I will have to be Cynical, and say: " I don't know. Nobody does." Heck, there are more than 80 chemicals in the water we don't test for, and even since the Safe Drinking Act was passed, another twenty plus compounds have been added to the water - sans Science. LOL
When you mentioned "deceptive" practices, well, when your internal studies show that the general public will find out it is dangerous, but you don't release that data (Think Tobacco) - and at the time, no legal laws, or regulations were broken-- if it wasn't for folks like Doc Brison, we would be awash in pollutants, dangerous supplements, and fad diets.
It does get so complicated, so quickly, that an ordinary citizen (I fear) wouldn't be able to keep up. As you know litigation, basic research, and scientific studies and panels, are all expensive, and in some cases, lengthy processes or procedures. It could be years, or even decades before some of the issues are resolved.
When you brought up the "Tour De Fraude" all of the things that make us ordinary folks cringe, came up: bullies with money and expertise, and legal teams, basically buried bankrupted, or besmirched the reputations of the Truth Tellers, while vindicating the wrong doers. Except for just two people who wouldn't be cowed, bow to the pressure, or give into the Spin Doctors of the PR folks. One was a writer who Doc Tim has had on his podcast, and the other guy moved to New Zealand and had to start a new life.
So keep up with your research, law practice, and educating us regular folks about how subtle legal words have distinct definitions: Endorser, Spokesperson - who knew?
The Movie Star and her Egg product come to mind. As does another movie star who continues to spread the word that Vaccines Cause Autism- totally debunked, yet millions listen to her. (By the way, I am on the Autistic Spectrum and I know her stuff is nonsense- the Dr. who planted that lie had his Medical License rescinded, and he was trying to start a company to make a Vaccine for Autism!) Sheesh. You, I fear, will never run out of either research or cases.
Thanks so much for being on today, and I am sure Tim will have you back!
Smiles , Kevin

Congrats again on building a career, and academic background that just sparkles.
Smiles, Kevin
