Mr. Gerald Veasley is well regarded as a musician, composer, recording artist, and educator.  He has been voted best electric bassist by Jazziz Magazine and has been recognized in Downbeat Magazine's Critic's and Reader's Polls. 

Mr. Veasley is considered one of the leading players of the six string bass guitar.  His unique sound can be heard on the nine CDs he’s released, including, On The Fast Track, which featured the top ten jazz single, Do I Do (R&R).  His recordings also feature some of the most celebrated voices in the music industry, including Dianne Reeves, Phillip Bailey, and John Legend.  Veasley's Live CD, At The Jazz Base, was recorded at his jazz club, Gerald Veasley's Jazz Base.  His most current recording, Electric Mingus Project, was released on Fanwave Media,   Gerald’s label, co-founded with partner Richard Waller III.

In 2002, Veasley co-founded the Bass BootCamp, an educational program for bass players of all levels and all ages.   Now in its 13th season, The Bass BootCamp has inspired and informed more than 600 students from throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe.  The annual event has been expanded to include the Bass BootCamp@Sea, which takes place during the Capital Jazz Fest SuperCruise and the BassBootCamp Expo, an exposition for bass equipment manufacturers. His teaching expertise has been recognized by his appointment as an Instructor at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
